Nuclear spectrometry. Radon determination
The radon determination service in water samples by nuclear spectrometry. The detector is a photomultiplier tube capable of operating in the range of 2 to 2000 keV. It has an RS232C output. It is equipped with alpha/beta separation. Preset protocols: H-3, C-14, S-35, P-33, I-125, and Free (for simple photon counting).
This equipment is designed for the in situ measurement of water samples. The measurement can be performed in half an hour once the sample has been prepared during the sampling campaign. Between 10 and 12 measurements can be carried out in a single day.
The following services are offered:
- Analysis of water for human consumption (mandatory according to Real Decreto 140/2003, de 7 de febrero, por el que se establecen los criterios sanitarios de la calidad del agua de consumo humano).
- It can be applied to the measurement of solid samples.
The following equipment is available for these analyses: Radon measurement equipment. Hidex Triathler.
Service location: Nuclear spectrometry laboratory (Andalusian Centre for Marine Studies – CASEM, 2nd floor, pala A. Puerto Real University Campus, University of Cádiz).
