About the service
LEC-PH was born in 2018 through the infrastructure project in the call of the State Subprogramme of Research Infrastructures and Scientific-Technical Equipment (State Plan I+D+I 2017-2020) with the title “Dotación del Laboratorio de Estudios y Conservación de Materiales del Patrimonio Histórico (LEC-PH) del Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas de la Universidad de Cádiz (INMAR)” (reference EQC2018-004947-P).
LEC-PH distributes its work in two main thematic lines, divided in two sites:
- Line of Study of Materials (INMAR, University Campus of Puerto Real).
- Line of Conservation and Restoration of Materials (Simón Bolívar Multipurpose Building, University Campus of Cadiz).
These have several lines of work: treatment in baths for desalination processes, electrolysis treatment, control and measurement of baths, safety in treatments and materials, cleaning treatment, consolidation and control, conservation of materials by means of a cold chamber and analysis of material microstructures.

A) Microstructural Analysis of Materials:
- Stereoscopic microscope with floor stand.
- Digital microscope

B) Control and measurement of preservation baths:
- Titrator for chloride measurement and potentiometric titrator.
- Table top and portable multiparametric equipment
C) Electrolytic treatments
- Electrolytic tanks with multi-parametric systems and control.
D) Cleaning, consolidation and control treatments:
- Micro Sand Blasting
- Micro drill
- Micro chisels
- Ultrasonic ablative equipment
E) Desalination and stabilization treatments:
- Desalination tanks with control of temperature, agitation and gas suction parameters.
- Vacuum pump
- Ultrasonic baths
- Demineralization system
